My name is Barry Owens, and I am a truck driver. However, I am a little different than your usual truck driver because I do it from a wheelchair. That's right, a wheelchair. On November 19, 1981, I was involved in an accident that left me paralyzed from the waist down. After I got out of the hospital in March of 1982, I knew my life had changed, but I also knew I had to keep going. I was engaged and did not want to let my fiance down. Kathy, now my wife, stayed right by my side. It was her commitment that gave me the drive I needed to overcome my setback.
